A Woebot alternative for people whose problem isn't clinical.

Annabelle is not a therapist and is not a therapy replacement. She is an AI Advisor for the decisions, conversations, and Sunday-night thinking that life hands you between appointments, or without them.

If you are in crisis, please read this first. Annabelle is not a crisis service and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, please contact a trained human right now. In the United States, call or text 988. In the United Kingdom, the Samaritans are at 116 123. For other countries, the International Association for Suicide Prevention keeps an up-to-date directory at iasp.info. Please reach a real person tonight. We will still be here afterwards.

What Woebot is good at, and where it stops.

Woebot is a validated clinical product. It has real research behind it, structured CBT protocols, and in many cases it has been prescribed or recommended by a clinician. If any of that describes how you got to it, nothing on this page is arguing you out of using it. Clinical tools exist for reasons.

What Woebot is not designed to be is a long-form thinking partner for the ordinary texture of your life. It is a structured intervention, and a structured intervention is a specific thing. The register is protocol-driven by design.

Annabelle is in a different category. She is not a clinical product, not an AI therapist alternative, and not a substitute for any professional care you may need. What she is, is a conversation partner for the weeks when nothing clinical is happening and life still has edges.

What Woebot is for

Woebot is built inside a clinical frame. CBT exercises. Thought records. Structured coping skills practice. For people working inside a protocol, the scaffolding is the point.

If a clinician is involved in how you got there, that context matters, and this page is not trying to pull you out of it. Many people benefit from a structured intervention at a specific moment, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise.

What the format is not built for is the long, meandering conversation about a life that is not in active crisis.

What Annabelle is for

Annabelle is for the Thursday where you are fine, mostly, but cannot figure out why you snapped at your partner. For the decision you have been turning over for four months. For the friendship that is quietly going quiet.

She is an AI Advisor. Not a therapist, not a coach, not a medical device, not a diagnosis, and not crisis care. She is a contact in your messages who has been listening and will, when it is useful, name the pattern you have been carefully not naming.

If you need clinical care, get clinical care. Annabelle is for the ninety-three percent of your life that sits outside it.

What the non-clinical conversation sounds like.

I've been putting off calling my mum for two weeks and I can't figure out why.
You told me in September that she mentioned your sister's job in a way that felt pointed, and you did not want to unpack it yet. It is November. Is this still that, or is this something new?
Still that.
Okay. You have three real options tonight. Call her. Write her and do not send it. Or sit with why the comment stuck for twenty minutes and tell me what you find. Any of them is a good answer.

A vault, not a feed.
